Laser Hair Reduction Clinic · Thane West
About Pristine Radiance
Pristine Radiance is a clinic in Thane West that provides one procedure: laser hair reduction. It was set up as a separate facility, rather than as a service within a larger clinic, so that its equipment, room design, safety measures, staff training and protocols could all be built around that single procedure. Skin phototype assessment, contraindication screening, parameter selection and treatment supervision are carried out by Dr. Prratyush More.
Why This Clinic Does Only One Thing
Laser hair reduction is widely offered — in salons, spas, chains and general clinics — and is often treated as a cosmetic service rather than a medical procedure. The physics say otherwise. The procedure works by selective photothermolysis: light energy is absorbed by melanin in the hair follicle and converted to heat, damaging the structures responsible for regrowth. But melanin also sits in the epidermis, so the same energy that treats the follicle can injure the skin above it if wavelength, fluence, pulse duration, spot size and cooling are not matched correctly to the individual’s skin phototype and hair characteristics. In darker Indian skin, where epidermal melanin competes with follicular melanin for the same energy, the margin is narrower still.
The clinic is organised around getting that right:
- Skin phototype is assessed and recorded before any treatment
- Medical history is taken and contraindications screened
- Parameters are selected by the dermatologist, not by a default setting on a menu
- A test patch is performed where indicated, with review before proceeding
- Settings are documented and adjusted session by session according to response
Doing one procedure has practical consequences. Staff train on two systems rather than a dozen. Room design, ventilation, safety signage and access control are built for laser use rather than adapted for it. Session scheduling is built around the intervals the hair cycle actually requires. And a patient presenting with excess hair growth is assessed for why, rather than simply booked.
What Pristine Radiance Provides
Laser hair reduction, by area — upper lip · chin · jawline · sideburns · cheeks · forehead and hairline · full face · neck, front and back · underarms · arms, full and half · shoulders · chest · abdomen · back, full and half · areola · legs, full and half · thighs · bikini line · Brazilian · buttocks · feet and toes · full body · full body with face
For men — beard-line shaping and neckline definition · chest · back and shoulders · abdomen · arms and legs · full body
Medical indications — pseudofolliculitis barbae, the persistent razor bumps common in coarse curly hair · recurrent folliculitis of the legs, bikini area or beard · ingrown hairs and post-waxing follicular inflammation · pilonidal sinus, as an adjunct following surgical management, on clinical indication · hidradenitis suppurativa, as an adjunct in selected cases under medical supervision · unwanted hair at graft or post-surgical sites
Assessment of excess hair growth — where hair growth in a male pattern in women suggests an underlying cause, including PCOS, thyroid dysfunction, hyperprolactinaemia or medication, investigation is advised and medical management arranged alongside treatment.
Not provided here: skin treatments, facials, peels or aesthetic procedures (KP Dermatology), and hair loss treatment or hair transplantation (Roots Restore).
How a Course Is Planned
Assessment First
Skin phototype on the Fitzpatrick scale, hair colour and calibre, the areas concerned, medical history, medication, hormonal history where relevant, prior hair removal methods and any previous adverse reaction.
Screening for Contraindications
Pregnancy · active skin infection or inflammation in the area · recent significant sun exposure or tanning · recent isotretinoin use · photosensitising medication · active herpes simplex in the area · uncontrolled epilepsy · keloidal tendency · pigmented lesions within the treatment field.
Investigation Where Indicated
Where excess hair growth suggests a hormonal cause, hormonal profile, thyroid function or ultrasound may be advised before or alongside treatment. In an untreated hormonal condition, new follicles continue to be stimulated, so laser reduces present hair while ongoing hormonal drive produces new growth — meaning a longer course and more maintenance. Treating the underlying cause alongside gives a more stable result, and patients are told this before a course begins.
Device & Parameter Selection
Which of the two systems, which wavelength, and what settings — chosen by area and by individual, and adjusted across the course.
Scheduling to the Hair Cycle
Laser affects follicles in the anagen phase only, and only a proportion of hairs in any area are in anagen at a given time — this is why intervals are timed, typically 4–6 weeks for facial areas and 6–8 weeks for the body, adjusted by site and response.
Expectations Set at the Outset
A typical course is 6–8 sessions with maintenance thereafter. The procedure produces reduction, not complete permanent removal. Grey, white and very fine light hair respond poorly or not at all. The number of sessions required and the degree of reduction achieved cannot be assured in advance. Written informed consent is obtained before the first session.

The Two Systems in Use
The clinic runs two platforms. They are not redundant — they cover different combinations of skin phototype, hair calibre and body area, and are used together where a patient’s requirements span both.
Alma Soprano Titanium Special Edition
Alma Lasers, Israel
This platform fires three wavelengths at once — 755nm Alexandrite, 810nm Diode and 1064nm Nd:YAG — from a single applicator. Because each is absorbed at a different depth, the bulge and bulb regions of the follicle are addressed within one pass.
Its delivery method differs from conventional lasers: rather than firing discrete high-energy pulses, the applicator is moved continuously across the area while tissue temperature is raised progressively, with contact cooling maintained throughout. Bringing the follicle to therapeutic temperature gradually, rather than in single high-fluence bursts, is generally better tolerated — patients commonly report warmth rather than a sharp snapping sensation.
Relevant characteristics: applicable across a broad range of skin phototypes, including darker and recently tanned skin, subject to assessment · large treatment spot and high repetition rate, so extensive areas such as full legs or a full back are covered in shorter sessions · effective on both fine and coarse hair.
Candela GentleMax Pro
Candela Corporation, USA
A 755nm Alexandrite and 1064nm Nd:YAG platform using cooled, discrete-pulse delivery. Its Dynamic Cooling Device releases a measured cryogen burst onto the skin milliseconds ahead of each pulse, protecting the epidermis and allowing higher energy to be delivered where that is appropriate.
Relevant characteristics: the 755nm wavelength, more strongly absorbed by melanin, suits lighter phototypes and finer hair · the 1064nm wavelength penetrates deeper and is absorbed less by epidermal melanin, making it the appropriate choice for darker phototypes and coarse, deep-seated hair · pre-pulse cryogen cooling permits higher fluence with epidermal protection where clinically indicated.
This platform is also used at KP Dermatology, with a dedicated vascular handpiece, for vascular lesions.
Why Both
No single wavelength or delivery method suits every patient. A fine-haired facial area in a lighter phototype and a coarse-haired back in a darker one are different problems. Holding a triple-wavelength continuous-motion system alongside a cooled discrete-pulse system means the approach is chosen for the patient rather than the patient fitted to whatever machine is in the room.

What to Expect
Practical information for patients considering or currently undergoing a course at Pristine Radiance.
● ● ●
Before Your First Visit
Bring details of any medication or supplements you take, particularly antibiotics, isotretinoin or photosensitising drugs, and tell the clinic about recent illness, skin infection, cold sores or the possibility of pregnancy.
Preparation
Shave the area 12–24 hours before. Do not wax, thread, pluck, epilate or use hair-removal cream for at least four weeks beforehand, as these remove the follicle the laser depends on. Avoid deliberate sun exposure and tanning for two to four weeks before. Attend with the area clean and free of deodorant, perfume, makeup and lotion.
Between Sessions
Shaving is permitted and does not affect results. Waxing, threading and plucking are not.
Afterwards
Redness and mild swelling around the follicles is expected and usually settles within hours to two days. Treated hair sheds over one to three weeks, which is expected and is not regrowth. Avoid hot baths, steam, sauna, swimming and heavy exercise for 24–48 hours, and use broad-spectrum sunscreen on exposed areas.
Realistic Expectations
The procedure reduces hair density, thickness and rate of growth progressively across a course. It does not remove all hair permanently, maintenance is generally required, and response varies between individuals and between body areas in the same individual.
Fees
Provided on enquiry at the clinic and confirmed only after assessment. The clinic does not advertise packages, session bundles, discounts or promotional offers.
